NO Power, NO Net

So, I finally starting writing again last week and then my laptop DIED. I'm in Charleston working for 3 weeks (2 down, 1 to go) and my computer has to go out on me when my computerifically smart husband is not with me. UGHHHH....SO I headed to BEST BUY to the Geek squad on Monday to find out it wasn't as dire as I thought. But it still cost $$$. So my awesome hubs ordered the part and had it shipped to me. I got it on Thurs and that night...the internet had an OUTAGE for 12hrs overnight. Seriously...I just wasn't supposed to blog last week.  So I will attempt to finish my Cali trip posts and resume writing about my vida loca.

Hope everyone had a great weekend. I got a mini trip down to my old hometown visit my mom and sis.  Love time in the Golden Isles, love my mom's french toast and love running into my childhood best friend.

Peace!

Beverly Hills What a Thrill!-Part one

About a week after we moved to Atlanta, Drew and I took of for the City of Angels.  Yeppers, we went to Los Angeles for vacation and it was AMAZING.  We stayed with one of our closest friends, Kate and her roommate Michelle in Beverly Hills.  I seriously fell in LOVE with Cali.  I have been to Washington, Oregon and San Francisco but never to the Southern part of the state.  Drew had never been to the West Coast period.

Our journey started on a Tues and we left ATL about 8:30EST and landed 10:30PST.  We were a little tired when we landed but stayed up even later (till 4am EST) talking and catching up.  They have the cutest Apt.  This is what greeted us in the kitchen:

Isn't that the cutest~ and what a great idea to have a chalkboard wall in your kitchen.

Kate had been asking what we wanted to do.  We had been so busy with packing, moving, unpacking, goodbyes, hellos etc that we really hadn't had the time to do any proper research.  We said we definitely wanted to do some of the typical touristy things but we were really there to chill and hang out with them. That's exactly what our trip was...CHILL.  We didn't rush in the mornings and we did fun things in the afternoon and evenings.

Our first day there we headed to Hollywood Blvd.  This is where the Hollywood Walk of Fame is and Graumans Chines Theater.  This was cool to see...but there were SO many tourists so we didn't stay too long. We did however see a very important Star on the walk:
Yes, This says RICKY MARTIN...if you know anything about me...you know I'm a BIG dork who loves Little Kiki : ). I wasn't even looking for this and we just happened upon it...YES!

After our touristy trek we decided to hike Runyon Canyon.  It was hot as hades and we had no water but it was worth it. The views of the city were awesome.

Once we got done with our hike we got back to Kate's car and it wouldn't start.  Our little Irish lass left her lights on and didn't have any jumper cables.  Drew scolded her in a very community theatre way...ha!

And then I passed out b/c I was hot and tired and thirsty!

So we asked people for jumper cables for about 30 min.  I will say...our one and only star sighting was during this time. At one point we asked a group of three folks for help and the girl in the group was the one and only Amanda Seyfried.  We didn't act like star struck buffoons and she was very sweet...and REALLY stinking small. ps-she didn't have jumper cables either : )

After we finally made it home we all showered and went to dinner in Santa Monica at EL Cholo. A super yummy and old Mexican place. It's been around since the 1920's. The food was great but these were even better:

That was Day 1 and I am tired so this is going to take me a couple of posts.  Come back for more antics : )

Moving, Moving, Moving

I promise my 10 followers (really 9 b/c I think my sis in law followed me twice),  I haven't left you for good.  I've been...

PACKING!! I've packed, and packed, and packed...and then....
We MOVED! Yep, the big move back to the ATL happened.
It has been emotionally, physically and mentally draining...but Drew and I are still talking...Ha! So all is well : ). No, but seriously, we have moved A LOT in our 9 yrs of marriage and for some reason this was one of the hardest for us.  I think we put roots down in a way we had never before in the past. We are going to miss our friends in Charleston and our church very much.  But we know this was what needed to happen.
The longer we are back and I'm getting settled in my way cool, 70's spanish mission ranch house, the happier I feel.  All in all...we are good and I will blog again soon!
